Faizabad: Due to alleged apathy of a government hospital staff a woman in Faizabad was compelled to deliver baby on the hospital floor and without any medical assistance.
Neeta Yadav, a resident of Faizabad city, has gone to district women hospital to get admitted for the delivery on Saturday.
After the labour pain increased, Neeta's husband Kapil approached the hospital staff to attend his wife, however, he said that he was asked to wait and get the hospital slip issued from counter.
"There was a long queue on the counter, before I could get the slip, Neeta fell down on the floor of hospital Varanda writhing with labour pain, but no hospital staff came for the rescue and she gave birth to a child," told Neeta's husband.
Looking at the scene, some other patients present in hospital protested.
"When the hospital staff saw that the situation is going out of control they immediately shifted Neeta to labour room and started giving her medical assistance," said Ram Mohan, a local Corporator.
When contacted after the incident, Chief Medical Superintendent of Faizabad women hospital, Shyamala Singh, said, "Hospital staff has been instructed to attend the delivery case on priority basis."
