New Delhi: BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad has severely criticised the Congress and the ruling UPA Government for orchestrating the proceedings in the Rajya Sabha so that no voting on the Lokpal Bill could take place.
"The UPA Government and the Congress has committed a fraud on the democracy," said Prasad.
The RJD was employed to disrupt the proceedings of the House," alleges Prasad.
"The Government could manage amendments in the Lok Sabha but not in the Rajya Sabha. We were ready for debate yesterday (Wednesday)," said Prasad.
"The Congress stands exposed. We want an improved version of the Lokpal Bill and were willing to sit through the night. But the Congress doesn't want a strong Bill," Prasad said.
"We are willing to pass it anytime, but the Government has to take initiative," he said.
