New Delhi: Leading American aircraft manufacturer Textron - which has successful products like Cessna aircrafts and Bell helicopters to its name -has formally entered the Indian aircraft market.
The $10 billion company has announced its Indian division, with targets of up to $1 billion for the next five years.
With a growth projection of 15 per cent per year, Textron is targetting aircrafts that would aid in oil and gas production and exploration, health and emergency services, as well as pilot training services.
The new India CEO, N R Mohanty attributes the formal move by the aircraft giant Textron into the Indian aviation scene to India's open skies policy and the investment in airport infrastructure.
