US Ambassador to meet Mamata over FDI

Kolkata: US Ambassador to India Nancy Powell is slated to meet West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday. The meeting comes ahead of the visit of US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to Kolkata in May.

According to sources, Powell and Mamata are likely to discuss the latter's concerns with regard to Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).

The sources have also said that the US Ambassador will try to allay Mamata’s concerns as 'diplomatically' as possible.

The two sides would also discuss investment opportunities and cultural tie-ups, said sources, with a primary focus on Hillary's proposed visit.
