New Delhi: The US Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) will take pharma major Ranbaxy Laboratories to court for systematic fraudulent conduct.
US FDA believes violations have resulted in adulterated and misbranded drugs and it will also ask the court to force Ranbaxy to do internal review of its manufacturing operations in India.
In response, Ranbaxy has strongly denied these allegations and will file a response later on Monday in the US district court in Maryland.
The Japanese pharma company Daiichi Sankyo that took over Ranbaxy in June has refused to comment on the matter and says it will follow the matter closely.
The company has not made any changes in the acquisition with Ranbaxy due to these developments. The Japanese company will acquire 34.8 per cent stake in Ranbaxy.
