New Delhi: The dead body of a foreigner was found in Taj Hotel in Mumbai.
Fifty-year-old Marilyn Dunstan - an American national and an air hostess with Delta Airlines - was found dead in the bathroom of her room at Taj hotel which is situated in front of the Gateway of India.
"The body was found in the bathroom door, which was opened with a security key. There was a certain wound around the member's neck. Seeing the circumstances, we have registered a case of accident. We have sent the body for post mortem and the investigations are on," says DCP of Mumbai Police, Pratap Dighavkar.
Employees at the hotel said they decided to break open Dunstan's room door when she did not answer repeated calls from the reception.
Security had to be called to open the door. The bathroom door too was locked and had to be forced open.
The police was informed and the body has been sent for post-mortem. Investigations are on to ascertain whether Dunstan had committed suicide or if there was some foul play involved.
Presently, a case of accidental death has been registered.
