New Delhi: America is soaked in the spirit of India as the Incredible India @ 60 campaign was launched in New York on Sunday to salute 60 years of Indian Independence.
The campaign, jointly launched by the Indian Government and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), attracted the cream of Indian entrepreneurs to establish Brand India in the US.
The campaign duration coincides with the annual session of the General Assembly when the city will host world leaders.
Meanwhile, the whole of New York, including the city's very heart and soul, Times Square, have been painted in Indian colours.
Bharati Enterprises CEO, Sunil Mittal is leading a 30-member delegation of CEOs at the campaign. According to Mittal, what's being sold at the Incredible India are essentially the three Ds — democracy, diversity and the demographics of an incredibly growing economy.
Infosys Chairman Nandan Nilenkani, who is part of the delegation says he feels this is the right platform to promote tourism.
"It's the perfect time to promote Indian tourism in the US and Incredible India @60 is the right platform to do it from. It will also have a huge financial and economic impact in the future," he said.
