New Delhi: Two of four suspects in the plot to attack John F Kennedy airport in New York could be sent to the US.
A court in Trinidad and Tobago will hear the case for extradition against Abdul Kadir and Kareem Ibrahim.
Kadir and another suspect Nur are believed to have links with the Jamaat al Muslimeen - a group behind a coup attempt in Trinidad 17 years ago.
The group is not known to have any links with al-Qaeda.
Analysts have said that the Caribbean and Latin American links of people charged in an alleged plot to blow up JFK Airport underscores the spread of global extremism.
Hoever, they warned about overstating the threat from America's southern neighbors, and said the case showed that US counter terrorism efforts were working to avert another attack like that of September 11, 2001.
Four people, including a former member of Guyana's parliament, have been charged with planning to blow up the Kennedy airport's jet fuel tanks and part of the 64-km pipeline feeding them.
Three of the four suspects, who included a former airline cargo handler, have been arrested.
