US visa now in just two weeks

India Broadcast News

New Delhi: Some good news for those who intend to go to the United States. The maximum waiting period for visa will soon be reduced to two weeks.

According to US embassy official Bob Blake, the new visa regime should be in place by December 2005.

While interacting with business leaders at the India Economic Summit in New Delhi, Blake said the demand for US visas was growing at the rate of 10 per cent per annum.

He added that the US Mission was making all efforts to meet the growing demands of people wanting to travel to America.

Blake explained that this demand had grown mainly because of the increasing agreements, like trade expansion and an open skies agreement, between India and the United States.
