New Delhi: There is confusion among Nokia cell phone owners.
Several users are lining up in front of Nokia showrooms and service centres to get the faulty batteries changed.
Nokia earlier had recalled its branded BL-5C batteries due to complaints of overheating caused while charging.
And Nokia had even advised that users could visit nokia.com slash replacement to find out if their batteries need to be replaced.
The batteries were manufactured by Matsushita between December 2005 and November 2006.
About 4.6 crores batteries were manufactured in this period and close to 100 incidents of overheating have been reported globally,
Analysts say the recall could cost Nokia over 563 crore rupees. Matsushita says the problem was caused by a manufacturing error rather than a design error.
