Uttarakhand CM rejects Modi's offer to rebuild Kedarnath temple, says state will bear the expenses

New Delhi: Rejecting Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's offer to rebuild the Kedarnath temple, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna said that the state government will bear the expenses.

"We will work on a war-footing to restore the infrastructure. The Kedarnath temple is going to be rebuilt by the state government and whoever wants to give any support is welcome," Bahuguna said.

Last week Modi had met Bahuguna and offered to rebuild the Kedarnath temple complex, destroyed in the deluge.

The Gujarat Chief Minister had tweeted about the rebuild proposition after his meeting with Bahuguna during his visit to Uttarakhand. "Met Vijay Bahuguna ji. Conveyed to him that Gujarat is ready to take responsibility of renovating the Kedarnath temple complex," he wrote on the micro-blogging site Twitter.
