Jammu: It took three meetings and a fourth round is in the making, but a formula to solve the Amarnath land transfer row is yet to be finalised.
However, the indications have been positive. Sources in the Amarnath Sangharsh Samiti have told CNN-IBN that they are willing to call off their agitation if they are allowed to use the 100 acres of forest land for three months every year.
The Samiti is not pressing for a permanent transfer of land, but only seeking legal rights to use the land temporarily.
Amarnath Sangharsh Samiti member, Suchet Singh says, "Till the time demands are fulfilled, our agitation will continue. The talks were positive."
Meanwhile the Governor's panel has sought 72 hours to find a solution to the issue that is acceptable to both residents of Jammu as well as Kashmir.
Sources also said that the Amarnath Sanghrash Samiti had submitted three separate draft proposals for final consideration and the Governor's panel is now mulling on the right pick, which hopefully will end the two-month-old stir.
After three rounds and fourth one to go, the Amarnath Sangrash Samiti clearly has climbed down from its initial rigid stand and now it seeems that the solution to this row is only a matter of a few days.
Meanwhile, a curfew has been imposed in all the 10 districts of the Kashmir Valley once again on Sunday.
The curfew has been clamped as a precautionary measure in view of the three-day bandh called by the separatists. This is the second time this month that curfew has been extended to all the 10 districts.
The curfew has also been clamped to guard against violence since the separatists have given a call for a rally at Lal Chowk to protest against the Centre's failure to find a resolution to the Kashmir issue.
