Vampires are not attractive: Robert Pattinson

London: Actor Robert Pattinson thinks his 'Twilight Saga' character, Edward Cullen, is 'flawed' and 'ugly' and said he does not understand why people are attracted to vampires. The 25-year-old plays a vampire in the movie franchise, and although he is adored by fans all over the world, Pattinson does not understand the attraction to vampires, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

"The annoying thing about him is the fan's perception of him as the perfect guy. I wanted to play his flaws but then you have this subliminal idea coming from everywhere saying, 'No he's got to be perfect'," Pattinson told empireonline.com.

"I don't think I've ever seen a vampire movie where I think the vampires are attractive. They end up looking worse than they do in their real life with the pale make-up and the fangs. I have never understood fascination with vampires. People are obsessed and I don't know why," he added.

Bitten by a vampire in 'Twilight', Bella is stopped from becoming a vampire when Edward removes the venom.
Bella insists after that to remain with Edward - he should turn her in to an immortal when the time comes.
