Vanzara in another fake encounter?

UNI

Ahmedabad: Soon after the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case came to light in Gujarat, another petition has been filed against suspended DIG D G Vanzara in the Gujarat High Court.

Shabir Jamal, brother of a slain suspected underworld henchman Sadik Jamal killed in a police encounter in 2003, filed a writ petition before the Gujarat High Court on Thursday to reopen the case of his brother's encounter in which Vanzara was involved.

According to Mukul Sinha, who filed the petition on behalf of Shabir Jamal, Sadik was killed in an encounter on January 13, 2003, by the Ahmedabad Crime Branch that alleged that he was on his way to kill Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

The petition urged to take action against the then Joint Commissioner of Police P P Pande and DIG D G Vanzara, who allegedly carried out the encounter.

It also demanded to exhume the body of Sadik and carry out post-mortem on it.
