Ahmedabad: The police remand of three Indian Police Service officers accused in the Gujarat fake encounter case has been extended till May 8.
The three arrested IPS officers are Deputy Inspector General (border range) DG Vanzara, Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajkumar Pandiyan and Rajasthan SP Dineshkumar MN.
They have been arrested in connection with the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case and were brought to the court on Saturday following expiry of their police custody.
In another major revelation, Vanzara's driver has revealed that another senior police officer from Gujarat - N Amin - was also present when Sheikh's wife Kausar Bi's body was burnt.
N Amin is a CID officer in Gujarat Police and the fake encounter case is incidentally being investigated by the same agency.
However, it is still not clear if Amin is part of that team.
Sources have also told CNN-IBN that three constables from the Anti-Terror Squad, Nathu Jadeja, Ajay Parmar and Sant Ram Sharma, have been detained in connection
The sources say Jadeja had transported Kauser Bi's body from Disha Bungalow near Gandhinagar to Ilol, where her remains were reportedly scattered.
