Vasanth goes eco-friendly, bans plastic on set

Director Vasanth has banned the usage of plastic on the sets of his forthcoming film 'Moondru Per Moondru Kadhal', which has Arjun, Cheran and Vimal in lead roles.

"This is a small step towards protecting the environment. I will be happy if my colleagues in the industry follow the suit," says the maker of 'Saththam Podathey', 'Aasai' and 'Nerukku Ner'.

He adds: "I got the spark to avoid the usage of plastic when we were shooting in Ooty. The civic body at the hill station has compeltely banned the usage of plastic, which creates big harm to the eco system."

Members of the cast and crew of 'Moondru Per Moondru Kadhal' were happy to oblige to the 'plastic ban' on the sets. Vasanth seems to have belled the cat. Will others take a cue from it?
