Dubai: Venus Williams defeated sister Serena 6-1, 2-6, 7-6 on Friday to reach the final of the Dubai Championships.
She next faces unseeded Virginie Razzano of France, who beat 16th seed Kaia Kanepi of Estonia 6-1, 6-2.
The 25-year-old Razzano continued a remarkable run this week that has included upset victories over second seed Dinara Safina and No. 5 Vera Zvonareva.
"It was me who was the boss today," Razzano said. "I wanted to do my best to reach the final."
