New Delhi: With the DMK's support to the Sethusamudram project, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad seems to have smelt a political opportunity in Bangalore.
Activists pelted stones at the residence of Karunanidhi's daughter late on Tuesday night to protest DMK's stance on the issue.
His daughter, Selvi was not at home at the time. No one was injured and police have not arrested anyone so far.
The attackers left a note at her residence — in J P Nagar — threatening the family.
"A corner of the gate has been burnt and someone threw in a threatening note, but we cannot jump to any conclusions right now," said DCP, South Zone, Alok Kumar.
Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports also said that two people were charred to death when a petrol bomb was thrown onto a Tamil Nadu state transport bus on NH-7 in Bangalore.
The attack on the bus is also being linked to the Sethusamundram project.
