'Vicky Donor' a funny take on sperm donation

Mumbai: Director Shoojit Sircar whose upcoming film, 'Vicky Donor' is based on sperm donation, says its a humorous take on the subject but has been dealt with care without crossing limits.

Produced by actor John Abraham, its a romantic comedy between a Punjabi boy and a Bengali girl, set against the background of sperm donation. The protagonists are essayed by video jockey and television host Ayushman Khurrana and TV actress Yami Gautam.

Despite the bold content, the makers have got the censor nod for running the first trailer.

In the film, Annu Kapoor runs an infertility clinic.
Many people come to Annu Kapoor with their strange demands.
And then, he begins the search to find the perfect sperm donor.
Annu Kapoor finally convinces Ayushmann for the job.
Everything goes well until Ayushmann falls in love.
Ayushmann falls for a Bengali girl.
He loves his job and earns good money with it, but will his girlfriend be fine with it.
So wait till April 20, 2012 to find out what 'Vicky Donor' finally decides.

Ayushmaan and Yami's chemistry in the film looks nice.
After making it big in the world of television, let's see whether Ayushmaan will taste success in Bollywood or not.
Its a big chance for Yami Gautam as well.
Though the film doesn't have popular actors in the star cast, but the storyline and performances can really work for 'Vicky Donor'.
Producer John Abraham has high hopes with 'Vicky Donor'.
During a recent interview, he said that 'Vicky Donor' will give the issue of sperm donation a lot of credibility.
"It is a very credible film. There are no adult jokes, it's not perverse, it's a clean film, a lovely film. It's my first production, so I will make sure I have a great first film," says John Abraham.
John has co-produced 'Vicky Donor' with Eros International.
'Vicky Donor' looks like an interesting watch.
With small-budget films doing good at the box office these days, 'Vicky Donor' may also click with the audience.

The director Shoojit Sircar says 'Vicky Donor' is a humorous take on sperm donation.

"When we started scripting the basic idea was that we knew that it is about sperm donation.. So we have taken special care while dealing with this subject and have ensured that it does not cross the limit and subtlety of the subject

is inherent," Sircar said.

"We have not crossed the limit. The trailer has been approved and whatever is there in the trailer is there in the film, there is nothing beyond this," he said.

John said there are no adult jokes in the film. "When we presented this trailer to the audience we made sure that this film is not crass, it is funny yet credible," he said. The film is up for release on April 20.
