Vilas Warak suddenly finds that he has no job anymore - all because he was Headley's fitness trainer. He says, "He (Headley) was a nice man. He used to speak nicely. I used to train him. I couldn't ever think of such a man plotting attacks in this city."
Warak is a victim of circumstances and is now bearing the brunt of being the fitness trainer of David Coleman Headley, the arrested alleged Lashkar-e-Toiba operative who has sent investigating agencies into a tizzy.
David Headley had taken membership at Moksh fitness centre in South Mumbai, where he befriended Vilas Warak and several film personalities. However, it seems for the time being that none of the people who were acquainted with him had a clue to Headley's sinister designs.
Warak says, "I never felt that he would be so dangerous. I mean, I lost my job..."
However, gym authorities have denied sacking Warak.
The owner of Moksh gym, Pritish Nandy says, "We have not sacked anyone. We have only asked him to take leave till matters cool off."
Meanwhile, the Headley puzzle probe has widened with more film personalities like Emraan Hashmi and Kangana Ranawat likely to be questioned by the National Investigating Agency. But Bollywood has sprung into defence of their own.
Filmmaker Ashok Pandit says, "It is a lapse on the part of the security agencies. Headley was roaming around freely in the country, but if they (film personalities) are guilty they should be hanged."
With investigations throwing up new names of individuals who met Headley everyday, investigators say that they are not being treated as suspects, but will be questioned.
