New Delhi: It's the last week of January, a time for movie goers to treat themselves to a bag full of drama. Victory, Luck By Chance, and Elegy are the three new releases this Friday.
LUCK BY CHANCE
All the bets are on for the Akthar siblings' Luck By Chance which hits theatres today.The film has been directed by debutante director Zoya Akthar and stars her brother Farhan Akhtar in the lead role.
Luck By Chance is a story of Vikram who comes to Mumbai to make it big as an actor. Needless to add that Farhan Akhtar plays Vikram.
The film also stars the much acclaimed Konkana SenSharma, established actress and daughter of actress-director Aparna Sen. The film focuses on the many hurdles that Vikram faces in his quest to be a star. Add to that the guest appearances by Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan.
VICTORY
After a disasterous debut in Lovestory 2050, Hurman Baweja returns with Victory which follows a father's dream to see his young son become a national cricketer. Directed by theatre and television personality Ajit Pal this drama also stars Anupam Kher, Gulshan Grover and Amrita Rao and features cricketers like Irfan Pathan, Brett Lee and Yusuf Pathan.
ELEGY
Elegy is a film based on Philip Roth's The Dying Anima and it captures the passionate relationship between a college professor, played by Ben Kingsley and a young woman, played by Penelope Cruz. The plot revolves around how this intimate connection transfrorms their lives and develops into an indelible love story.
Avid film buffs have a platter full to cater to their tastes this Friday, what with Luck By Chance, Victory and Elegy, all releasing in the Indian theatres on one day.
