Mumbai: With the start of the season of awards shows, Vidya Balan's name has appeared on the list of most wanted actresses to perform at the events. In fact, an industry veteran reveals that till last year, Vidya was never even considered for such shows. Our source points out, "While Vidya is a very good actress, she was far from being the glamour girl. She was not perceived as 'oomphy' as Kareena, Katrina, Deepika, Priyanka or even Anushka when it comes to performing on stage."
However, the stupendous success of The Dirty Picture has turned the scales in Vidya's favour. As our informer says, "Apart from being approached to perform on the 'Ooh la la' and 'Naaka mukka' tracks, she's also being offered a handsome fee, averaging to about Rs 50 lakh per event."
Mohammed Morani, one of the top event organisers confirms that Vidya is very much in demand this year. "A chartbusting song and a super hit film is what is required of a star for the award functions."

Born in 1978, Vidya started her career with the serial 'Hum Paanch' on Zee TV.

She made her movie debut in the Bengali film, 'Bhalo Theko' in 2003.

Next came 'Parineeta' in 2005.
