Vijayamma is Gandhari: Naidu

POLAVARAM: Describing Vijayamma as “Gandhari”, TDP supremo, N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday wanted to know why had YSR’s  wife closed her eyes to the corruption of Jagan. Interestingly, the epithet ‘Gandhari’ had first been used by AICC spokesperson Renuka Choudary against YS Vijaya Lakshmi.
While addressing roadshows in Vankawari Gudem, Buttayi Gudem, Kannapuram, Jeelugupally of Polavaram Assembly constituency in WG district on Thursday, Naidu took potshots at Vijayamma. “Even though Jagan looted crores of public money, his mother behaved like ‘Gandhari’ by closing her eyes at the former’s corruption. Though Jagan amassed wealth by illegal means, Vijayamma never questioned her son,” the TDP chief criticised.
He wondered how could Vijayamma stage dharnas against the arrest of Jagan. Why the same Vijayamma did not take to the streets when several officers and industrialists were sent to jail because of the wrong deeds of her son?  As Jagan amassed wealth by abusing power during the YSR regime, the YSRC chief was trying to install one lakh statues of YSR, so as to gain sympathy in the polls, without caring for the money being spent, the TDP president lamented.
