Vilasrao Deshmukh hospitalised in Chennai

Chennai: Union Science and Technology Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh has been hospitalised. He was flown to Chennai on Monday night. It is unclear as to what he is suffering from, but reports say it may be related to his liver.

According to the sources, the 67-year-old senior Congress leader from Maharashtra who is ailing for sometime was brought by the special flight around 6 pm on Monday and immediately taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

"We are studying the case," a source in the hospital said to queries on the condition of the former Maharashtra chief minister.

It is unclear as to what he is suffering from, but reports say it may be related to his liver.

Deshmukh recently underwent medical tests at the Breach Candy hospital in south Mumbai.
