Imphal: Ahead of Assembly polls slated on January 28, an IED blast outside the residence of Manipur speaker, Hemochandra Singh rocked Imphal on Sunday.
According to initial reports, one person has died and three have been injured in the incident.
The speaker was not at his residence when the explosion took place. Another unexploded IED device was found in the same the venue.
CorCom, the conglomerated body of 7 UG groups, has claimed responsibility for the attack. Just last week there were blasts outside the residences of a Congress and a Trinamool Congress candidate as well.
