Srinagar: Protestors clashed with security forces in Srinagar on Friday morning when a march by separatists was stopped by the police. At least five people have been injured in clashes in Lone Mohallah of Channapora area of the city.

Protestors started pelting stones on the security forces, who opened fire. A police station was also attacked by the stone-pelting agitators.

There has been heavy security in Srinagar because of Hurriyat's call for a bandh and march to Maisuma. Prohibitory orders have been issued and barricades have been erected to foil more protests. Authorities imposed restrictions on the movement of people in Srinagar, Budgam, Anantnag, Pulwama districts and Sopore town.

Friday's clash is the latest in a series of clashes over the past month in which 17 people have been allegedly killed due to firing by security forces in five weeks.
