Mumbai: Vishal Bharadwaj's much delayed children's film The Blue Umbrella will finally make it to the theatres on August 10. Based on author Ruskin Bond's book by the same name, the film's music too has been composed by Vishal himself.
For someone who specialises in re-interpreting other author's works, the filmmaker is more than happy that Ruskin bond himself liked the film. So the delay is well worth it.
"The music keeps in mind the appeal of children and a village folk tale," says Bharadwaj.
The filmmaker is also rumoured to have signed on a major crossover Hollywood venture for his producers, UTV. And there' still his Shakespearean trilogy, to complete after the superbly crafted first two films - Maqbool and the Indianised Othello - Omkara.
While Vishal does confirm that he will work with UTV on two more films, his answer on the time frame for his third Shakespearean trilogy is cryptic.
"It’s always good to plan and aim high in life, but life doesn't go accordingly. I am very keen on making the final film on Shakespeare,” says Bharadwaj.
After his adept handling of children’s film with Makdee, Vishal sure has a lot of expectations to meet up with The Blue Umbrella.
