Click to play videoMumbai: It was quite a sombre setting for a film on AIDS. Vishal Bhardwaj chose the thriller format to tell his 12 minute story on AIDS for the Bill Gates Foundation.
Starring Siddharth and Ayesha Takia, Blood Brothers is just one of the four films commissioned by the Gates Foundation - the other three being directed by Mira Nair, Farhan Akhtar and Santosh Sivan.
"I think the more entertaining the film, the more people will remember the message. It should not come across like the social message,” said Bhardwaj.
The maverick decided to choose the best people to work with and approached Oscar-winning cinematographer Guillermo Navarro for the film.
Navarro won an Oscar for Pan's Labyrinth.
Working in Bollywood is not easy for Navarro who is still trying to understand the trend. "You cannot do direction here. There is so much sound,” he said.
Style of work comes much later, Navarro was taken aback with even the Indian style of welcoming.
"I was full of colour. It was Holi. I thought that everyday was going to be like that,” he said.
These short films will be ready shortly, and If you are movie buff you will catch these films at a theatre near you.
