Mumbai: German car major Volkswagen Group, which recorded almost 50 per cent drop in sales last month at 4,410 units, said it will roll out the variants of it's popular Polo hatchback and Vento sedan by end of the month, to cash in on the forthcoming festive season.
"We will start the sales of the refreshed carlines of the Polo and the Vento by this month-end," managing director of Volkswagen (Passenger Cars) in India Arvind Saxena told reporters here during a media interaction.
Volkswagen sells the Polo, the Vento, the Jetta, the Beetle, the Passat and the Pheaton in the domestic market. The company had reported sales of 4,410 units last month, down about 50 per cent against 6,091 units in the year-ago period.
The new variants of the Polo will be priced between Rs 4.89 lakh and Rs 5.84 lakh in Delhi, Saxena said.
Similarly, the new Vento will be priced at Rs 7.29-8.74 lakh. The top new variants of the Polo will be up to Rs 40,000 cheaper than the existing models, while the Vento will cost about Rs 20,000 less.
Volkswagen also plan to scale up the dealership to 150 from the existing 109, Saxena said adding the new dealerships will come up in the existing as well as newer markets.
