The Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) is organising an all-Kerala essay competition in connection with World Space Week-2012 celebrations, which is observed from October 4 to 10. The topic of the essay is ‘Space for Human Safety and Security’ and the entries can be in English, Hindi or Malayalam.
The competition is open to students of Class VIII to X. The entries should be handwritten on one side of an A4 size paper and should not exceed 2,000 words. The participant’s name, class, age, full name of the school, complete postal address and telephone number (with STD code) of home and school and e-mail id if available, should be written on the front page.
A certificate from the headmaster or principal should be enclosed with the entry.
The envelope should be superscribed “WSW-2012 Essay Competition.”
Prizes will be distributed to the winners of the competition during the World Space Week Celebration at VSSC.
The prize-winning essay will win the GSLV Gold Medal. The essays should reach the address WSW-2012 Office, TDAD, VSSC, Thiruvananthapuram - 695022, before October 3. Phone: 2565695.
