New Delhi: Stop me if you've heard this one. "Petrol pump attendant : Kitne ka daaloon? Driver: 2-4 rupye ka gadi ke upar spray kar de bhai. Aag lagani hai.' On the day petrol prices were hiked by an all-time record of Rs 7.50 per litre, Bollywood stars went on a tweeting spree to express their outrage. But there was one problem. The jokes were heavily recycled and by the time they returned to your timeline you would have had heard them at least 10 times already.
No stars, big or small, were an exception to this. From Amitabh Bachchan to Boman Irani, the jokes came fast and furious, all tongue-in-cheek variations of the same theme - the outrage at the petrol price hike and how much it will pinch the pockets.
Not that some weren't funny, but most were BlackBerry Messenger forwards, status updates from Facebook and most tweeted tidbits from Twitter humorists, flushed through Twitter to the timelines of their hundreds of thousands of followers. It's time someone found our celebrity Tweeters some humour writers.

On the day petrol prices were hiked by an all-time record of Rs 7.50 per litre, stars went on a tweeting spree.
Here are some samples of celebrity tweets on the subject of petrol price hike. They may or may not be original. But they summed up the users' sentiment on the steep rise in petrol prices.
Amitabh Bachchan: Petrol up Rs 7.5 : Pump attendant - 'Kitne ka daloon ?' ! Mumbaikar - '2-4 rupye ka car ke upar spray kar de bhai, jalana hai."

Isha Koppikar: Anyone Selling a Horse. Need 1 Urgently. Petrol gone up by 7.50/ltr. Car back in the stable. Feeding a Horse will work out cheaper as I still want Horse Power.
