New Delhi: A racy red band trailer of 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo', pegged as the much-anticipated "feel bad" movie of the holiday season, has hit the web and filmmaker David Fincher may have a blockbuster on his hands.
The leaked trailer for the silver screen rendition of Stieg Larsson's international bestseller is a kaleidoscope of images that reveal little of the plot but is set in dark undertones and is an instant hit on the net with fans waiting eagerly for its December 21 release, sharing it on social networking sites.
Rooney Mara stars as 'Lisbeth Salander' and Daniel Craig is investigative journalist 'Mikael Blomkvist'. The film is the second based on Larsson's first novel in his Millennium series. A Swedish version of the film came out in 2009 and has since been released in more than 25 countries.
The silver screen rendition of Larsson's international bestseller is widely anticipated.
The mystery novel has sold more than 30 million copies in at least 44 languages.
Fincher is noted for his dark thrillers, such as Seven (1995), The Game (1997), Fight Club (1999), Panic Room (2002), and Zodiac (2007).
He received Academy Award nominations for Best Director for his 2008 film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and his 2010 film The Social Network.<iframe width="100%" height="343" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/8kOFGI0p6SM?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
