Mumbai: A sting operation by a social activist in Mumbai has revealed the nexus between police and illegal construction mafia. The sting, shot at a refugee camp in Kurla, showed around 15 policemen taking bribes to allow illegal construction to flourish in the area.

The Mumbai Police has now initiated an enquiry.

The sting comes just days after the worst building collapse in Maharashtra in a decade. The illegal seven-storey building collapsed partially last week, killing 74 and injuring many more. The structure was illegally constructed on forest land.
