Water team wears India on their sleeve

CNN-IBN

Hollywood: The countdown to the Oscars is almost finished, and the rather touristy photoshoots are underway.

Competing for the Best Foreign Film award, four of the five nominated directors including Deepa Mehta posed with a dummy statuette and friendly competition seemed to be the mood of the moment.

“We are filmmakers before we are competitors so it’s always fun meeting other directors.

So the question that everyone's asking, how much of Water is Indian and how much Canadian?

“The inspiration is Indian and the independence to express myself is Canadian. I am an Indo-Canadian and nobody can take that away from me,” she said.

So what will Deepa Mehta, John Abraham and Seema Biswas be wearing when they sashay down the legendary red carpet?

“I’m wearing a saree,” said Deepa. John opted for something in black. “I’ll wear an achkan,” said John.

“I’ll wear a saree for sure,” said Seema.

Well people, do keep your fingers crossed!
