We have killed 2 kidnapped Germans: Taliban

CNN-IBN

New Delhi: The Taliban has said they have killed the two German nationals they had kidnapped in Afghanistan and that their deadline to kill 23 Korean hostages ends on Tuesday.

The Taliban are demanding the release of 23 Taliban prisoners and the withdrawal of about 200 South Korean troops in Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, the body of one of the Germans they killed, with gunshot wounds, was brought to a police station in Kabul on Sunday.

German authorities had earlier said that they believed the dead hostage had died of a heart attack.

A Taliban spokesperson said they killed both hostages on Saturday after Berlin refused to pull out troops from Afghanistan and release Taliban prisoners. But German officials claim that one of the kidnapped is still alive.
