We have moved on in 26/11 probe: Pak

New Delhi: Indian External Affairs Minister SM Krishna met his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi in New York in a first highest-level meeting of the foreign ministers of the two nation after its prime ministers met at the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheik in July.

CNN-IBN’s Indira Kannan spoke with the Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi after his talks with SM Krishna.

Indira Kannan:The most contentious issue first, Hafiz Saeed. What kind of assurances were you able to give Mr Krishna regarding his arrest?

Shah Mehmood Qureshi: I said that the leads provided are being looked into. We are very serious in bringing the perpetrators to justice.

Indira Kannan:What is it exactly that is preventing Pakistan from taking this evidence seriously and acting on it?

Shah Mehmood Qureshi: We have been taking what has been provided to us seriously. We have moved on. Seven people have been arrested. India was very fixed on Zarah Shah and Lakhvi. They have been picked up. They have been arrested and they are being tried. Their trial starts on October 3. So our seriousness and our commitment to deal with the issue within the realms of law is very obvious.
