New Delhi: A girl was allegedly gangraped and her companion molested by three unidentified local men at the Rampurhat railway station in Birbhum district on Saturday.
The men allegedly dragged one of the women out of the waiting room and raped her early Saturday morning. They also assaulted her companion.
"The girls were near the station waiting to catch a bus to reach their home at Jarmundi village in Jharkhand," Superintendent of Police Rishikesh Meena said.
A local rickshaw puller has been arrested and the police are on the lookout for the two other locals. The women had come to Burdwan to visit their relatives and were on their way back.
The girls have been sent to Rampurhat hospital for medical test, the police said.
