Kolkata: The intense heat wave has left seven people dead on Wednesday in West Bengal. The deaths were reported from West Midnapore and Hoogly.
The deaths have taken the toll to 85 deaths in four days. Temperatures have been above normal in most areas across the state and while light showers brought some relief to regions in the north, the east continued to sizzle.
The Met department said that rains were expected in the region only by next week.
