Kolkata: A woman was allegedly raped by an assistant sub-inspector of Kolkata Police on Wednesday.
The father of the woman had filed the complaint alleging that the ASI raped his daughter. The incident happened in the Beniapukur area of Kolkata on Wednesday, police sources said.
Following the complaint lodged by the father of the woman, the ASI posted in the Hare Street police station has been arrested, Deputy Commissioner of Police (ESD) Satyajit Banerjee said.
"He (ASI) has been arrested today. The medical test has already been conducted on the victim," Banerjee said.
