Here is a look at the spectacle on offer from Hollywood in the year 2010.
First up, Robert Downey Jr, reprises his role as the armoured crime-fighting superhero in Iron Man 2.
The smooth talking millionaire faces off against the vivacious Scarlett Johansson and a very metallic Mickey Rourke in this upcoming sequel.
Next we have Russel Crowe's in tights! No it's not a musical - it's for Ridley Scott's big budget interpretation of Robin Hood! Watch the merry men face off against the evil Sheriff of Nottingham and rescue the Maid Marian, played by Cate Blanchett.
Then, get ready to see a macho Jake Gyllenhaal as Prince Dastan in Prince of Persia! The legendary video game comes to the big screen with an all star cast including Gemma Arterton and Sir Ben Kingsley.
Johnny Depp fans too should brace themselves. Tim Burton's adaptation of Alice in Wonderland will see your favourite pirate as a particularly eerie looking Mad Hatter when 17 year-old Alice finds herself back in the weird and wonderful world she visited 10 years previously!
If that isn't enough to get you jumpstarted for the New Year, there's plenty more to look forward to with bigger and badder sequels of Harry Potter and Twilight. There's Freddy and the Princess and the Frog too.
