When India became nation of sporting domination

'Kapil's Devils' won the 1983 Cricket World Cup against overwhelming odds upsetting two-time defending champions the West Indies in the final at Lord's. In the 80's, Indian sports saw some other world champions, too, like Geet Sethi and Michael Fereira. Prakash Padukone won badminton's biggest prize and P T Usha became one of Asia's most dominating athletes. The 80's certainly saw some of the best Indian sporting moments.
