New Delhi: With the onset of the Summer season, the Indian hotel industry is doing what it can to bring in customers.

The crisis-ridden hospitality industry is going the extra mile to woo clients this summer.

With customised packages and major discounts, top hotels across the country are rolling out the red carpet.

Five-star hotels like the Taj Mahal Palace and Towers, the Oberoi and the Leela are offering summer holiday packages that range from family getaways to wildlife safaris.

Senior Vice Prseident, Sales and marketing of the Taj Hotels Resort and Palaces, Ajoy K Misra said, “There are a whole lot of family holidays, family getaways across many of our hotels. There are the royal retreats and royal spa retreats packages, which are built around all our grand palaces such as the Taj Lake Palace, Rambagh Palace and the Umed Bhavan Palace. We have safari holidays as part of our Taj Safari Lodges on the wildlife circuits.”

The Oberoi group offers long-weekend packages ranging from Rupees 12,000 to 64,000.

Oberoi's summer packages range from Rupees 7,900 to 30,000. These packages are for two people over two nights.

The Taj Group’s summer packages range between Rupees 6,000 to 48,000.

At the Leela Kempinski Goa and Kovalam, the deal gets even more inexpensive, ranging between Rupees 2,250 and 1,950.

“We actually customise the conference for each person. Depending on their need for that particular conference, there could be theme dinners; there could be a lot more detailed options, spa treatment,” said the General Manager of The Leel Kempisnki at Kovalam, Biswajit Chakraborty.

This summer, the holiday packages are more about value-additions than discounts.

They target nearly 40 lakh to 50 lakh people. Experts say that even if 50,000 to 60,000 people avail of these offers, hotels can achieve 70-75 per cent occupancy.
