Four days after Ganga crusader Swami Nigamananda's mysterious death, his family is now in a fight to claim the body. There is a fight between Swami Nigamanand's family and ashram over who will perform his last rites.
Nigamanand's father and brother were thrown out of his ashram when they demanded to take away the body for the final rites.
Nigamanand's followers claim the family never bothered about him when they were informed about his illness. The family is now on a dharna outside the Matri Sadan Ashram.
A CB-CID probe is on into the death, after allegations and also a pathology report suggested that Nigamanand died of poisoning.
The pathology report on the test conducted on swamy's blood sample indicates that he may have been was poisoned with a pesticide with a high phosphate content. The autopsy report however ruled out death due to poising.
Swamy Nigamanand was fasting against illegal mining being carried out on the banks of Ganga near Haridwar. When his health deteriorated in the last week of April, he was admitted to a government hospital by the district administration where is died on Monday.
