Wicketkeeper batsman Pathiv Patel to lead Gujarat

Ahmedabad: Wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel will lead Gujarat team in the West Zone One-Day International Vijay Hazare Trophy 2013, Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) said.

Gujarat will begin their campaign with a match against Maharashtra Thursday, followed by a match against Ranji Trophy champions Mumbai the next day.

On February 17, they will play Baroda and on February 20, they will be up against Saurashtra, a GCA statement said.

Gujarat will begin their Vijay Hazare Trophy campaign against Maharashtra Thursday.

All the matches will be played in Pune. Gujarat had emerged runners-up to Jharkhand two seasons back.

U-19 World Cup winning member Smit Patel has also been included in the squad.

Team: Parthiv Patel (Captain), Priyank Panchal, Smit Patel, Manpreet Juneja, Rakesh Dhruv, Akshar Patel, Jesal Karia, Rush Kalaria, Ishwar Choudhary, Mehul Patel (Jr), Chirag Gandhi, Bhargav Merai, Mohit Thadani, Ahad Malik, Himalaya Barad.

Mukund Parmar (Coach), Rajiv Desai (assistant coach), Abhishek Thaker (physio), Rashesh Patel (Manager).
