Will Marigold be Salman's claim to Hollywood?

Mumbai: Music launch of Salman Khan’s ‘firang connection’ Marigold started an hour and a half late, true Bollywood tradition, with Salman striding in as flamboyantly as always.

Willard Carroll, the director of the film, and music composers Shankar Ehsaan and Loy were in attendance but the female lead Ali Larter gave this music launch a miss.

“I was just talking to Shankar Ehsaan Loy and was asking them why do you make such amazing music for all your films,” said Salman Khan.

"I wanted Shankar Ehsaan Loy because I liked their music in Dil Chahta Hai. I wanted the same spirit in my film,” said Director Willard Carroll.

So how much of Hollywood's in there in this typically Bollywood film? Get ready to see the Hollywood actress dance her way and even attempt a Hindi song while running round trees, even as Salman plays the usual swashbuckling filmi hero. “We had to make the songs more Bollywood type than usual,” said Shankar Mahadevan.

Marigold hits theatres in August and whether it strikes gold for Salman or not is something yet to be seen.
