New Delhi: The new Chief Justice of India, P Sathasivam, has spoken out on the allegations of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) verdict having been leaked. He has said the court is open to an inquiry.
"Nobody will encourage such things, we can't accept it. We are following strict procedure. I don't know how it has come. We have to inquire. So far it has not come to my knowledge. I've heard it only through the media," Justice Sathasivam said.
Earlier, when outgoing CJI Altamas Kabir was asked about the reports of the leak, he had expressed surprise. " "As far as I know this is entirely a secret. It was kept in my chamber. I would not be able to answer this," he had said.
The Supreme Court had in its order on Thursday scrapped holding of NEET, paving the way for private colleges to conduct their own examination.
