CNN-IBN | Updated Jan 08, 2013 at 09:16am IST

New Delhi: No respite for Delhiites from the cold as the national capital is freezing at 3 degrees Celsius. The severe cold conditions have claimed lives of 24 more people in Uttar Pradesh, taking total death toll to over 170.

However, visibility remains normal with slight fog. But the Met department says there may be some respite with the cold winds that could bring up the temperatures in Delhi and surrounding areas.

The cold wave is likely to continue over Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar for the next two days.
