Work hard, steal a little, but don't act like dacoits: Shivpal Yadav to bureaucrats

CNN-IBN | Updated Sep 30, 2012 at 09:37am IST

Etah: Uttar Pradesh PWD Minister and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's uncle Shivpal Yadav has given some bizarre advice for bureaucrats.

He told district officials in Etah that it's okay to steal a little but not loot as long as they work hard. "I told PWD officials that if you work hard, you can steal a little but not behave like dacoits," Yadav said.

Earlier in July, too, Shivpal Yadav had made a bizarre statement. He had made a pitch to save cows from slaughter by suggesting that people kill and feast on the endangered Nilgai instead.

"Don't butcher cows, there are plenty of Nilgai, anyone can kill them. They taste good when made into kebabs," Yadav had said.
