Property details of Yeddyurappa family

Bangalore: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa has allegedly got land worth several crores allotted to his family members for very low price. Documents exclusively accessed by CNN-IBN show that Yeddyurappa bent every rule in the book, only to ensure allotment of land for his sons and other family members.

Yeddyurappa family consists of his daughters Padmavathi, Arunadevi, Umadevi and his sons BY Raghavendra and BY Vijayendra.

Padmavathi is not involved in politics or business while Arunadevi is a member of National Literacy Mission and runs NGOs in Shimoga.

His other daughter Umadevi runs a BPO and is accused of 'out of turn' allotment of 2 acres of land from Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB). Sohan Kumar, who is married to Umadevi, is also accused of receiving favours from the Chief Minister in land deals.

Yeddyurappa's son and Lok Sabha MP BY Raghavendra is accused of filing false affidavit to get Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) land. Vijayendra runs business and educational institutions and has been accused of getting land under the Chief Minister's quota.

However, Raghavendra says no rule was flouted while acquiring land.

"There has been a convention in almost all states to allot sites to representatives like MLA, MP's and social activists on CM discretion quota. In BDA also there is such a category G under which allotment were made I was allotted land under this category we have been allotted industries through normal procedure there is nothing illegal," he says.

But documents with CNN-IBN show that Raghavendra and Vijayendra bought 11.25 acres of denotified BDA land in May 2010 for Rs 2 crore where as the current market value of that plot is Rs 181 crore.

Raghavendra, Vijayendra and Sohan Kumar bought 2.5 acres in August 2010 from a Abu Dhabi businessman BR Shetty for Rs 3.37 crore where as its current market value is Rs 38.15 crore.

Raghavendra bought a former BDA site for Rs 10 lakh in October 2009. The plot is valued Rs 4 crore now.

In July 2008 Raghavendra, Vijayendra and Sohan Kumar bought five acres of denotified BDA land in KR Puram for Rs 50 lakh. Its current market value is Rs 75 crore.

Raghavendra and Vijayendra bought 5.5 acres of government land in Shimoga for a hospital in 2008 for Rs 50 lakh. It current market value is Rs 5 crore.

Raghavendra also bought a house at Manyata in Bangalore for Rs 50 lakhs in 2006. But its market value now is Rs 10 crore.
