New Delhi: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa, who arrived in New Delhi late on Wednesday, said that he is confident that the matters regarding the state government will be solved on Thursday.
“I think today (Thursday) everything will be sorted out,” he told CNN-IBN.
Yeddyurappa is in the national capital to hold talks with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders to sort out the ongoing political crisis in Karnataka.
The BJP leaders have been struggling to hammer a compromise between the Chief Minister and the Reddy brothers who want Yeddyurappa to quit.
However, Yeddurappa says he is ready to meet the Reddy brothers.
“I have no reservations. I am ready to meet Reddy brothers,” he told CNN-IBN on Thursday morning.
Taking on the rebel MLAs of the party, he said: “The rebel MLAs have tarnished the image of the party. I would request them to attend conferences and work together.”
The Karnataka CM had left his home state to fly to Delhi at 1730 hrs IST.
At 2030 hrs IST, when he arrived at the Delhi airport, he was greeted by supporters, MLAs and the state BJP president Sadanand Gowda.
"My government will complete a five year term," a confident Yeddyurappa told mediapersons at the airport.
After reaching Karnataka Bhawar at 2100 hrs IST he immediately went to meet former BJP president Venkaiah Naidu.
Thereafter, he met BJP senior leader Arun Jaitley, BJP General Secretary and Karnataka MP Anant Kumar.
At 2030 hrs IST, Yeddyurappa and Anant went to meet Vidhan Sabha speaker Jagdish Shettar.
Shettar is the choice of the Bellary Reddy brothers to replace Yeddyurappa as the chief minister of Karnataka.
This was the first face-to-face meeting between the CM and his detractors. The meeting went on till past midnight, following which Anant and Yedyurappa left without saying a word to the media.
The Chief Minister will again meet Naidu and Anant on Thursday. He also plans to hold meetings with Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, LK Advani and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
